Finding fields and values

Every field of the finding form, the values each one accepts, and which fields withdraw a sign-off when changed.

The same form records and edits every finding. Its title says which: New observation for a point, Save measurement for a measurement, or Edit and the finding’s number.

Field Required What to enter Limit Withdraws a sign-off when changed
Title Yes A short name that identifies the finding — what and where 200 characters Yes
Dam component / location No Where it is, in site terms, from the general to the particular — for example “Spillway > Bay 3 > downstream face” 200 characters Yes
Engineering assessment No The condition, the likely mechanism, the evidence and how certain you are. For a measurement, the figures are already here 4,000 characters Yes
Severity No — but required to sign off How urgently the finding needs attention One value Yes
Status Yes Where the finding is in its life One value No
Category Yes The type of defect One value Yes
Tags No Words to search and group by, separated by commas — No
Recommended action No What should happen next. Leave it empty if no action is needed 2,000 characters Yes
Target date No When the action should be done by A date Yes
Field Values
Severity critical, high, medium, low, info — or none
Status open (the default), monitoring, resolved, closed
Category crack, spalling, seepage, corrosion, erosion, deformation, vegetation, other (the default)
Item Meaning
The line under the title The measurement and the coordinates of the finding
The viewpoint line Whether the current view will be saved with a new finding. When editing: “Saved viewpoint kept. Editing does not re-record the camera.”
Record the section plane this was measured through Shown when a section plane is on. Selected by default. Clear it to save the view without the cut
The draft notice Saving creates a draft. It enters signed reports only after an engineer signs it off

These are written by AerTwin and cannot be typed in: the finding’s number, who created it and when, who signed it off and when, who made the second review and when, and — for an AI proposal — which detector proposed it and from which photograph.
