Mouse and keyboard

Every mouse action and key in AerTwin, grouped by what you are doing at the time.

The same key can mean different things in different situations. The situation you are in decides.

When Navigate is lit on the toolbar.

Do this To
Drag with the left button Orbit around the point you last focused on
Drag with the right or middle button Pan
Turn the wheel Zoom in or out
Turn the wheel three times quickly at about 1.5 m Go closer than 1.5 m, down to 0.40 m. Closer, the picture is magnified, not sharper
Double-click a surface Fly to that point and make it the centre of rotation
← → Pan left or right across the screen. Hold to glide
↑ ↓ Pan straight up or down
Click a pin or a finding’s label Select the finding and fly to its saved view

When a tool from Measure or Advanced is lit. Dragging no longer orbits, so a click cannot move the view by accident.

Do this To
Click Add a point
Turn the wheel, or press the arrow keys Zoom or pan without leaving the tool
Click the first point, press Enter, or double-click Close an outline (Area, Volume, 3D defect)
Press Enter, double-click, or right-click Finish a Distance
Backspace, or Ctrl+Z Remove the last point
Esc Cancel the outline you are drawing

After an outline closes, or after Edit shape on a saved finding.

Do this To
Drag a point Move it
Click the outline between two points Add a point there
Press on the outline and drag Add a point and place it in one move
Click a point, then Delete or Backspace Remove that point
Double-click a point, or Alt+click it Remove that point
Ctrl+Z · Ctrl+Y Undo or redo a change to this outline only
Enter Apply the changes to a saved finding
Esc Cancel the changes to a saved finding, or finish shaping a new outline

An outline keeps at least 3 points, and a line at least 2.

Do this To
Click a card Select the finding and fly to its saved view
Ctrl+click a card Tick or untick it, without moving the view
Shift+click a card Tick every card from the last one ticked to this one
Delete Delete the ticked findings. The notice offers Undo
Esc Untick everything
Ctrl+Z Undo your last change
Ctrl+Y, or Ctrl+Shift+Z Redo it

The review keys pause while a form is open, while you type in a field, and while an outline edit or a replacement is unfinished.

Do this To
Drag Pan the photograph. With Point lit, a left-button drag draws a rectangle instead
Right-drag or middle-drag Pan the photograph
Turn the wheel Zoom about the pointer
Click, with Point or Outline lit Place a point on the photograph
← → Previous or next photograph
Esc Close the photograph

Esc Close that window

After Explain on the toolbar.

Do this To

Tab · Shift+Tab Move to the next or previous item on the screen
Esc, or Done Leave Explain

Esc always takes one step back from what you are doing: it ends a point drag, closes the enlarged depth chart, cancels an outline or its unapplied changes, closes an open menu, closes the finding form, unticks findings, and finally returns to Navigate. Press it again for the next step back.
