Edit a finding

Change the title, the assessment, the severity or any other detail of a saved finding.

FindObservationsEdit

  1. On the toolbar, click Observations.

  2. Find the finding — for example, enter its number in the search box.

  3. On its card, click Edit.

For a measurement, you can also select it and click Edit details in the Measurement panel.

The form opens with the finding’s current values. Its title is Edit and the finding’s number.

  4. Change the fields you need. See Finding fields and values.

  5. Click Save.

The card shows the new values. The status line confirms the save and says whether the sign-off remains current. To take the edit back, press Ctrl+Z.

Editing never changes the saved view: the form says “Saved viewpoint kept. Editing does not re-record the camera.” To change the view of a measurement, see Update the view of a measurement. To change an outline, see Change the shape of an outline.

A sign-off applies to one version of a finding. Changing any of these fields creates a new version and withdraws the sign-off:

Withdraws the sign-off Does not
Title, Engineering assessment, Severity, Category, Dam component / location, Recommended action, Target date; the outline; the saved view Status, Tags

A signed-off finding that you change shows draft again. Sign it off again when you have finished. See About findings and sign-offs.
