The Observations panel
The panel that holds the project's findings — search, filters, display controls, exports, the finding cards and the actions for ticked findings.
FindObservations
The panel lists the project’s findings: point observations, saved measurements, and AI proposals that someone has signed off or dismissed. AI proposals that nobody has decided yet are listed in the AI defects panel instead. Every finding has a number — OBS-001, OBS-002 and so on — that never changes and is never reused.
Header
Section titled “Header”| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Observations and a count | How many findings the list shows |
| Update line | When the list was last brought up to date — for example “Updated 10:30 · 5 min ago”. Reads ⚠ Refresh failed if the last refresh did not reach the server |
| Refresh | Reads the latest saved findings, including your team’s. The list never refreshes by itself |
| › | Collapses the panel to a thin bar on the right edge |
When a colleague has saved a newer version of a finding than the one you see, a line under the header says so, with its own Refresh button.
When the project has AI proposals that nobody has decided, a banner above the list says how many — for example, “12 AI proposals; detector source … — open AI defects”. Click it to open the AI defects panel.
Search, filters and display
Section titled “Search, filters and display”| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search box | Shows only findings whose number, title, notes, location, recommended action or tags contain what you type |
| Filters | Shows or hides the filter rows. A count beside it says how many filters are applied |
| Type | point, measurement or bookmark |
| Status | open, monitoring, resolved, closed |
| Category | crack, spalling, seepage, corrosion, erosion, deformation, vegetation, other |
| Review | pending, signed, dismissed. Dismissed findings are hidden unless dismissed is chosen here |
| Source | proposed (by the AI) or mine (recorded by a person) |
| Geometry | coherent, stray anchors, not assessable — whether an outline can be trusted. See Measurement results |
| Show on model | Which findings may appear on the model: All observations, Matching filters or Nothing |
| Display style | How they are drawn: Adaptive, Pins + labels or Pins only |
| Clear filters | Removes every filter and the search text |
Within one row, choosing two values shows findings that match either. Across rows, a finding must match every row. A row with nothing chosen does not filter.
Export buttons
Section titled “Export buttons”| Button | What it exports |
|---|---|
| CSV | The findings shown in the list, as a spreadsheet file |
| ? | The CSV glossary: what every column of the CSV means |
| The findings shown in the list, as a PDF report rendered from each finding’s saved view |
Only signed-off findings appear in an export. See PDF report contents.
A finding card
Section titled “A finding card”| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Tick box | Ticks the finding for the actions bar. Ctrl+click a card does the same |
| Number and chips | OBS-…, area or distance for a measurement, its severity and its status |
| Eye | Hides or shows this finding on the model. The finding stays in the list and in reports |
| Review mark | draft (not signed off), ✓ (signed off), ✓✓ (signed off and independently reviewed) or dismissed |
| Outline mark | outline when some points of the outline landed on the wrong surface, so its size cannot be trusted; unchecked when there are too few points to tell |
| Title and details | The title; then the category or the measured figure, the location, and no viewpoint if none was saved |
| Fly to | Returns the view to where the finding was recorded |
| Edit | Opens the finding form |
| Delete | Deletes the finding. A notice offers Undo |
| Review | On a finding that is not decided: opens the review panel to sign it off or dismiss it |
| Undo | On a decided finding: takes the sign-off or the dismissal back |
| 2nd review, Undo 2nd | On a signed-off finding: adds or removes an independent second review (Admin role, a different person) |
| Task text | On a signed-off finding with a recommended action: plain text for a maintenance system |
Click a card to select the finding and fly to its saved view. Shift+click ticks every card between the last one ticked and this one.
Actions for ticked findings
Section titled “Actions for ticked findings”The bar appears when at least one finding is ticked.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| “N findings ticked” | How many are ticked |
| Name this part of the structure… and Group | Files the ticked findings under a new group with that name |
| Add to an existing group… | Files them under a group that exists. Shown when the project has groups |
| Ungroup | Takes them out of their group. The findings are not changed |
| Clear | Unticks everything. Esc does the same |
| Export CSV, Export PDF | Exports only the ticked findings |
Press Delete to delete the ticked findings. See Delete a finding.
Groups in the list
Section titled “Groups in the list”When the project has groups, the list is divided into sections, one per group, with Not filed under a part last. A section heading shows the group’s number (GRP-…), its name, an eye that hides the whole group on the model, the number of findings, and Select, Rename and Delete. Click the arrow at the start of the heading to fold the section.
