TaskNeeds the Inspector or Admin role

Delete a finding

Remove a finding, or several ticked findings, from the project's active record — and bring one back with Undo.

FindObservationsDelete

A deleted finding leaves the list, the model and the reports, but the record is kept: AerTwin can restore it, and its number is never given to another finding.

Deleting a finding needs the Admin role, with one exception: an Inspector can delete a finding they created in the current session, as long as nobody has signed it off or dismissed it.

  1. On the toolbar, click Observations.

  2. On the finding’s card, click Delete.

There is no confirmation. The finding disappears, and a notice says, for example, “Deleted OBS-031” and “OBS-031 keeps its number — nothing was renumbered.”

  3. If you deleted it by mistake, click Undo on the notice, or press Ctrl+Z.

The finding comes back with the same number.

A saved measurement can also be deleted from the Measurement panel: select it and click Delete.

  1. Tick the findings: Ctrl+click each card, or Shift+click to tick a run of cards.

  2. With the Observations panel in front, press Delete.

The ticked findings are deleted together. One notice counts them and offers Undo for all of them. Findings that your role does not allow you to delete stay ticked, and the notice says so.

The status line says, for example, “you do not have permission to delete a finding on this project”. Ask a project Admin to delete it, or contact support.
