The toolbar

Every button on the toolbar along the bottom of the AerTwin window, what it does, and what it means when it is lit.

The toolbar says two things, and each button says exactly one of them. Left of the thin vertical line: what your next click on the model does. Right of it: which panel is open. A lit button means the tool is active or the panel is open — always, in both directions.

Item What it does
‹ Projects Leaves the structure and returns to the projects page. Unsaved work is not kept
AerTwin and the project name The structure you are in
Button What it does
Navigate Your mouse moves the view: drag to orbit, right-drag to pan, the wheel to zoom, double-click to focus on a surface. Navigate is the absence of a tool
Measure ▸ Point observation Places a finding at one point on the structure
Measure ▸ Distance Measures the length along the surface through the points you click
Measure ▸ Area Measures the area inside a closed outline
Measure ▸ Volume Measures the material between the surface and a base level that you choose
Advanced ▸ 3D defect Estimates the concrete missing from a face, against where the sound face used to run
Advanced ▸ Depth profile Shows how the surface departs from the straight line between two points
Advanced ▸ Section Cuts the model along a plane so that you can look and measure inside it

Measure and Advanced open a menu above the button. While one of its tools is active, the group button is lit and names the tool — for example, “Measure · Distance”. Click the active tool again, or press Esc, to return to Navigate.

Button Opens
AI defects The AI’s proposals near your view, and the review. See AI defects and review panels
Photos The source photographs of a point you pick. See Source photographs
Measurements The Measurement panel on the left. See The Measurement panel
Instruments The instruments marked on this structure. See Mark the location of an instrument
Observations The project’s findings. See The Observations panel

AI defects, Instruments and Observations share the right side of the window. Opening one of them closes the other.
